Bienvenidos estudiantes y familias de la escuela Swallow!
My name is Jeanne Hanson, and I teach K through 4th grade Spanish.
I am at Swallow every school day from 8-3:30.
If you need to reach me, please email me at hansonj@swallow.k12.wi.us.
Best time to chat would be right away in the morning between 8-9:30am.
Our Spanish time is very limited and we try to pack a lot in, in a short time.
Each week we will concentrate on a certain theme or project.
Some projects or units will take us weeks to complete.
We revisit and reinforce basic vocabulary and concepts often so as to create a stable base for future learning. You will see work coming home weekly and I encourage you to ask your child what they are learning about and any new words that they could share with you.
Many of the students have siblings here at Swallow and they are all taking Español.
Whether older or younger it is a great opportunity for your family to step outside of the box a bit and try a new language....take a risk! There are many opportunities for you to reinforce the language just in our community alone.
I encourage you to reach out and stay involved in your child's education. Spanish can sometimes be overlooked in the whole academic scene of homework and necessary information but I would hope that you realize the importance of and the benefits of being familiar with the Spanish language. It is all around us and is more and more available for us all to hear, see and interact with on a daily basis.
Looking forward to many new adventures and experiences this year with my students. What a great class to teach!
Hasta la vista...Señora Hanson
